Posted in Uncategorized on 15/12/2009 by richardVideo by R.Churchill
Once again you’re back as Desmond Miles a bartender with a lot of history. With the help of Lucy Stillman (doctors assistant in Assassins Creed) you escape from the Templer’s captivity only to have to help her and her assassin friends Shaun and Rebecca (but at least there’s something in it for you). This time round your Animus character isn’t Altair Ibn La-Ahad but Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young wealthy Italian who is out for revenge. After witnessing the death of your father and brothers for a crime they set up for, you swear to avenge their deaths.
The good news is this time you are not alone, you have got friends and family to help you along the way. None more special than Leonardo Di Vinci himself, who has a few tricks up his sleeve to help you. That’s not all the new stuff either. There’s new weapons, costumes, people you can hire, puzzles, swimming and even a small town to manage. And then there’s the old favourites of battles, leaps of faith and executions.
There are two pieces of Eden to collect and you have nine targets to kill, each being a major level, who were involved in the plot of killing your family, to unveil the secret that is the end of the game.
What’s more all the little glitches from the original game have now been perfected and this game runs like a dream, graphics from this game are superb and effects are amazing. The addition of the puzzles from the glyphs from a previous experiment subject is a stroke of genius and the collections are at least inside the main game play areas this time. Also with the addition of new types of weapons, you have to learn a few new types of fighting styles and this just adds so much more depth to the fights, I’m especially in love with unarmed combat moves, how simple but quality.
As a person who discovered the first game late my wait wasn’t as long as others (platinum edition), this time my anticipation for the next installment is maximum, roll on Assassins Creed 3. If I’m perfectly honest in my opinion this is the best game made for the Playstation 3 so far.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Review
Posted in Uncategorized on 11/12/2009 by broskIntroduction to the story
First let’s start by saying this game is amazing and infinity ward have created a piece of art. Modern Warfare 2 takes place right after COD 4
And the basic idea is that one of Zakeav’s main generals Makarov has vengeance set upon his mind and the way he will do it is not a simple terrorist act upon either America or the United kingdom but convincing all of Russia to go to war with the two super powers. The story kicks when you are assigned to a special task force known as the 141 these are a collection of specialized seasoned ware veterans heavily trained in warfare. When you are assigned to this dream team the main story begins when you are thrown into a deep cover mission where you are forced to kill countless civilians at a Russian airport to gain Makarov’s trust but of course there is a twist…Makarov knows you are undercover and kills you once you have proved your worth and once the Russian government discover you’re an American operative all of Russia cry for war.
Graphics
All in all the graphics are stunning the lighting effects are perfect and the facial expression and detail on the character faces are almost hard to believe. Probably my most favorite graphical feature is the blood splatter when you blow an enemy’s brains out from behind but although the lighting and explosion effects are perfect and stunning sadly the part that matters the interaction graphics are quite poor for example when you shoot an enemy blood splatters but no wounds are visible on the bodies from what I can see and there is no dismemberment which would have been a cool thing to put in a game like this. The important part is the pros beat the cons ten fold but it would have been nice to add a bit more detail to the things that count.
Combat system
As we would have expected COD MOD 2 did not disappoint with their special way of making us think that killing enemies over and over again never gets boring because…it simply doesn’t. With a vast array new weaponry and dramatic ways to kill people in certain parts of the story mode the trigger happy nature certainly leaves your gamer blood thirst quenched. As with other games there is a personal opinion matter for instance I don’t like the way they have made grenades roll because I just can’t seem to get the targeting right try as I might but if you’re like me you can switch to the new semtex which is basically a sticky grenade for those people who would like laugh their heads off when they throw one at a enemy’s head.
Online COD
This games online play rivals the Xbox titan Halo and I think they have finally done it this time the game play is amazing the weapons are flawless and you are constantly being rewarded for racking up kills in whatever game play mode you are in. With new features like the ability to get titles and actually choose your kill streak rewards such as the classic UAV or the helicopter but my favorite has to be the Predator missile, in which you control a missile to the point of a pin point miniature nuke hitting your enemies which is great fun. All in all this game is fun the only problems lie in the fact the story is kind of confusing and way to short but I give this game a 9.5/10
Lego Indiana Jones 2
Posted in Uncategorized on 10/12/2009 by richardYes Indy is back in another plastic building block adventure. This game mainly revolves around the latest installment of the films “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. It also includes three additional levels from the previous films.
There are six story levels in the game. Three from the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and one level from each of the previous films (Raiders of the Lost Arc, Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade). Each level tells a story (part of each film) and is loaded with humour. Every level is relativley simple and unlocks characters needed to complete bonus levels. These bonus levels are a really nice touch needing certain types of players to complete them eg a player with a spade and a player with explosives. Also unlocking vehicles is quite fun having mini time trials to unlock characters and rewards adds to the fun element of this game. Collecting different types of coloured chests etc also unlocks bonuses which you have to buy is if your like me is a must, which can be very time consuming but when rewarded with such things as invincibility is worth it. All characters are from the films and it is really good to play levels as your favourites.
As expected from the Lego series games you get plenty of fun and a lot of game, this game doesn’t disappoint in that either. There are a few tweaks to the original game that are an approvement to an extent and there is the added bonus for the first time in a Lego series that you have your own section where you can create and edit your own levels. Overall this game in my opinion doesn’t live up to previous Lego titles. But that is not that bad of a thing, this game is fun for all age groups and people of all gaming abilities. It’s a must buy for anyone who is into previous Lego film series (Star Wars (both titles), Indiana Jones and Batman).
If I had to give this game a mark it would be a solid 7 out of 10. Not to shabby, but if your a serious gamer there is bigger and better games out there at the moment. If you’re in need for a game that’s an escape and you really don’t have to think alot, this is the game for you.
